Salvaged

Wax + Organic Papers + Photography + Oil + Metallic Foils + India Ink on Panel

This body of work came to life when I decided to re-purpose the wax shavings and strips I had collected over time from working on other paintings. The reductive process of scraping creates unique cross sections of wax ribbons that carry the DNA of past intentions into the present. Sometimes they contain only wax, sometimes there are remnants of embedded oil markings and other collage elements. The result is a unique textural landscape of color, forms and markings.
